JoyAnne O'Donnell – "January Trees" – A Poem

January Trees

What a wonder the trees have
with shades and effect
a florist’s drawing
painting breath
They bring life’s rings
Born green they are
to this unflawed garden,
angel shaped warm clothing
lighting all the mountains
memories growing leaves on leaves
A series of brown bow ties.
They seed richly!
Blowing the winds,
that are spacious
Waist-deep gracious.
Full of endless wings, singing vigorously.
